Mark Wahlberg: Actor, producer, fitness magazine cover dude.

For a couple hours on Friday, Aug. 25, you can add "mixologist" to the list for the veteran Hollywood star. Wahlberg will return to Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar in Delray Beach to serve drinks − for a good cause.

Below are things to know about Wahlberg, his foray into the tequila business and his ties to Florida.

Who is Mark Wahlberg?

Mark Wahlberg got his start in Hollywood as a '90s Calvin Klein underwear model and namesake leader of the hip-hop group, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, before his transition into big-budget action films, buddy comedies and critically acclaimed dramas. In recent years, Wahlberg has made Forbes' list of highest paid actors. News reports show his net worth climbed to $400 million, and several of his films collectively made billions at the box office.

Most recently, Wahlberg's global successes include "Transformers," "The Fighter," "Ted," "The Other Guys" and the "Daddy's Home" movies.

Aside from the big screen, Wahlberg has long been known for being physically fit, often appearing on the cover of magazines like Men's Health, GQ and Vanity Fair.

Does Mark Wahlberg own a home in Florida?

Mark Wahlberg doesn’t have a home in the Palm Beach area, but he might as well, with the amount of time he’s been spending in Palm Beach County this year.

In March, the actor visited the area, making an appearance behind the bar at Bice Ristorante Palm Beach and signing Flecha Azul tequila bottles at Total Wine in Legacy Place. He also stopped in at Rocco’s Tacos on PGA Boulevard to thank the restaurant for its support of Flecha Azul, which means "blue and arrow" in Spanish.

While here, Wahlberg dropped into a Publix store on Village Boulevard, where videos were recorded of him encouraging the Lakeland-based grocery chain to carry his tequila and his brand of supplements, protein bars, protein powders and other food products.

Does Mark Wahlberg own a gym in Florida?

In May 2021, Mark Wahlberg showed up to an exercise class at F45 Training in Jupiter. An investor and brand ambassador for F45, the actor joined 17 other members for a 45-minute interval training class that saw him stretch, dip, crunch and lift his way through a series of kettlebells, sandbags, resistance bands and other training equipment.

Wahlberg, alongside fellow Bostonian and actor Anthony “Ace” Thomas, rotated through nine workout stations, sweating it out to songs like Queen’s “We Will Rock You” and “My Humps” by the Black-Eyed Peas, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Coincidentally, at the time of his surprise visit to the Florida gym, there were pudgy photos of Wahlberg circulating on the internet from the set of his movie, “Father Stu.” The actor gained weight for the role and subsequently got into magazine cover shape after filming was complete.

What is Mark Wahlberg's new tequila?

In a January 2022 story in Forbes, Wahlberg announced a sizable investment in Flecha Azul, partnering with entrepreneur Aron Marquez and pro golfer Abraham Ancer. According to Forbes, Wahlberg signed on after a visit to the distillery in the Lowlands (El Valle) of Jalisco, Mexico, and he vowed to use his star power to promote the brand.

“I was seeing how many people were having great success in the industry that didn’t really have this same pedigree when it came to creating tequila. I realized pretty quickly that they were creating a superior product — an authentic product,” the story states.

Wahlberg returns to Palm Beach County on Friday, Aug. 25, to serve drinks at Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar’s Delray Beach location, during a Flecha Azul Tequila happy hour alongside Rocco's Tacos owner Rocco Mangel.

There will be opportunities to take a photo with Wahlberg and happy hour cocktail and food specials, like strawberry basil margaritas and $5 tacos. Proceeds from the happy hour will benefit the World Central Kitchen, a humanitarian organization founded by celebrity chef Jose Andres. World Central Kitchen volunteers work the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises. The group currently has efforts on the ground in Maui helping wildfire victims.

Following the Mark Wahlberg event in Palm Beach County, for the month of September, profits from Flecha Azul strawberry basil margaritas purchased at Rocco's in Delray Beach will support World Central Kitchen’s outreach in Maui.
