Mark Ruffalo has also claimed that the movie is unlikely to be made, giving the lavish cost attached to the project as the reason.
In a February 2024 interview with GQ Magazine, Ruffalo shared, “I’d love to do a standalone Hulk, I just don’t think that’s ever going to happen. It’s very expensive if you did a whole movie, which is why they use the Hulk so sparingly. I priced myself out!”
Furthermore, Universal Pictures owns the rights to the character, giving them autonomy over the distribution of a solo Hulk movie. With Marvel Studios and Universal sharing a complicated relationship over the said rights, a Mark Ruffalo-led Hulk is highly improbable to ever receive the green light.
