Mark Hamill reminisces about the first day he met Harrison Ford at a 'Star Wars' screen test

Mark Hamill recalls jumping in headfirst to the role that defined his career over 40 years ago.

Hamill's first "Star Wars" screen test for the franchise was also his first time meeting his co-star Harrison Ford. The 67-year-old actor reminisced about the moment after getting tagged in a tweet of a black-and-white video of the two reading their lines as Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

"My screen-test for @starwars w/ Harrison on the 1st day I ever met him. Neither 1 of us had read the script at this point, only this 1 scene," Hamill wrote.

Not only had the actors not read the script, but director George Lucas barely told them anything about the movie's concept. When Hamill asked "what kind of movie" "Star Wars" would be, the director's response was "Let's just do it, we'll talk about that later."

"We never did talk about it later-we just did it," Hamill wrote. Maybe unorthodox, but that strategy seems to have worked out OK.
