The latest tributes to Weathers — who died peacefully in his sleep, per a statement from his family, according to Deadline and Variety — come about after Sylvester Stallone shared an emotional statement in memory of his Rocky costar.

“We lost a legend yesterday,” Stallone, 77, wrote on Instagram. “My life was forever changed for the better the day I met Carl Weathers. Rest in power and keeping punching." The actor-director added in a video posted alongside his message that Weathers was an "intricate part of my life and success."

“Carl Weathers will always be a legend. An extraordinary athlete, a fantastic actor, and a great person,” the actor, 76, wrote in a message. “We couldn’t have made Predator without him. And we certainly wouldn’t have had such a wonderful time making it. Every minute with him - on set and off - was pure joy."

"He was the type of friend who pushes you to be your best just to keep up with him. I’ll miss him, and my thoughts are with his family," added Schwarzenegger.
