Ahead of Christmas, the NBC actress made folks emotional when she uploaded a rare post with her husband of 18 years. In the photos, the couple wears red matching beanies with their initials embroidered on them. As the two cozy up next to one another, Mariska grins while Peter gives her a kiss on the cheek.

"All I want for Christmas is you ♥️," she wrote on Instagram on December 24. "Merry Christmas."

While Mariska has been known to share photos taken by Peter, Law and Order: SVU fans were particularly thrilled to see a selfie of the couple together. They immediately fled to her comments section to share their excitement over the unexpected picture.

"THE CAPTION, I NEED A MINUTE 😭😭😭😭😭😭," one person wrote on Instagram. "I want to have a relationship like you and Peter. You guys are so perfect it’s actually insane.❤️," another follower replied. "Oh my god! You two are too cute!! I want a love like this!!!!!!" a different user added.

The social media post of Mariska and Peter is just one of a few the actress has posted revealing more about her private life. Despite keeping her marriage and family primarily offline, she had both on display when she shared snippets of a holiday vacation with Peter and their three kids—sons August and Andrew and daughter Amaya. That said, Mariska does show private moments with the Younger alum from time to time, like that a rare photo from a wedding they attended back in October.

Despite the fact that Law and Order: SVU viewers don't always get to witness the star's life behind the scenes, she does often give personal anecdotes about how special her marriage is with Peter.

"I think we both knew, sort of, what we found," Mariska told People in 2019. "We sort of knew that we found the right one. I never thought it could be this good, and I never knew that I’d be reminded on the journey, that I’d marry the right one. That I waited and married the right one and it’s better than I thought it was. Because sometimes you take a snapshot and you go, ‘I can’t believe this is my life.’"
