The Palace Theatre will present Disney’s "The Little Mermaid" this summer with performances scheduled for 7 p.m. July 13, 19 and 20, and 2 p.m. July 14 and 21.

The story captures Ariel’s quest to find love and freedom above the waves, featuring beloved songs such as "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World."

Director Clare Cooke will hold auditions at 1 p.m. May 18 on the Palace main stage. Cooke is looking for performers ages 12 and up to fill various ensembles and featured roles. Participants should enter through the front theatre doors.

Each auditioner is asked to come prepared to sing a one-minute Broadway-style audition tune. A pianist will be provided. No CDs. Those interested in speaking roles will have the opportunity to read from the script. Auditionees should dress comfortably and wear shoes suitable for movement.
