Marilyn Manson Settles Lawsuit With Woman Accusing Him Of Rape

Marilyn Manson has settled a rape lawsuit filed against him by a woman, identified as Jane Doe before it could reach trial, which was scheduled to begin next week.

The Blast can confirm that her attorney, Adam Wolf, filed a notice of settlement with the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, on Wednesday. He will also submit a request to get the case dismissed within the next 45 days.

Manson was accused by Jane Doe in 2021 of raping her and depriving her of food and sleep.

Embattled singer Marilyn Manson, real name Brian Hugh Warner, reached a settlement with a woman who accused him of rape in 2021. The settlement comes right before they could go to trial, which was set to begin next week.

The woman, Jane Doe, accused the "Sweet Dreams" singer of raping her in 2011, claiming that he deprived her of sleep, food and even threatened to "bash her head in" if she ever reported the abuse to the authorities.

In a statement, Doe said, "I was fully prepared for trial and never in a million years thought I would ever settle, but over the past two-and-a-half years I have silently endured threats, bullying, harassment, and various forms of intimidation that have intensified over the past few weeks."

She added, "Marilyn Manson attended my deposition, and I was forced to answer seven hours of aggressive questioning with him staring at me from across the table. I’ve been told that this almost never happens, as it’s cruel, and that a main reason for it would be to intimidate and inflict emotional distress on a victim."

Doe added that she never cared about money and was only seeking "justice" but that "if [they] had gone to trial, I could have lost my right to anonymity and been victim-blamed on a large and public scale."

As of now, the details of the settlement are unknown.

Marilyn Manson Is 'Pleased' By The Outcome

In another statement to Rolling Stone, Manson's lawyer, Howard King, noted that the singer is "pleased that, just as previous lawsuits were abandoned without payment or settled for pennies on the dollar." 

They also claim that Jane Doe "agreed to drop her suit in exchange for an insurance payment representing a fraction of her demands and far less than the cost to Brian of proceeding to trial."

This is Manson's second settlement this year, after agreeing with "Game of Thrones" actress Esme Bianco to settle a sexual assault lawsuit against him.

"Ms. Bianco has agreed to resolve her claims against Brian Warner and Marilyn Manson Records, Inc. in order to move on with her life and career," the actress' attorney said in a statement at the time.

Marilyn Manson Was Accused By Esme Bianco Of Rape 

After "Westworld" actress Evan Rachel Wood accused Manson of abuse in February of 2021, it opened a floodgate of sexual abuse allegations against the singer by several women.

"GOT" star Bianco was one of over a dozen women who had accused Manson of sexual abuse, amongst other claims. She was also the first to file a lawsuit against him.

"Mr. Warner used drugs, force, and threats of force to coerce sexual acts from Ms. Bianco on multiple occasions," the suit read. "Mr. Warner raped Ms. Bianco in or around May 2011."

The suit also revealed details of how Manson allegedly abused Bianco without her consent: "These acts include spanking, biting, cutting, and whipping Ms. Bianco’s buttocks, breasts, and genitals for Mr. Warner’s sexual gratification — all without the consent of Plaintiff."

Through his lawyers, Manson has consistently denied all allegations against him and has sued Wood of defamation, emotional distress, and "impersonation over the internet."
