Loma Vista Recordings is no longer promoting Marilyn Manson’s music after Evan Rachel Wood accused the musician of abuse. The label had released Manson’s last two albums, 2017’s Heaven Upside Down and 2020’s WE ARE CHAOS. Reached by Pitchfork, the label shared the following statement:

In light of today’s disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album, effective immediately. Due to these concerning developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.

Future scenes of American Gods and Creepshow featuring Manson have also been pulled, as Deadline notes. American Gods network Starz told Deadline: “Due to the allegations made against Marilyn Manson, we have decided to remove his performance from the remaining episode he is in, scheduled to air later this season. Starz stands unequivocally with all victims and survivors of abuse.”

In a statement, Evan Rachel Wood claimed that Manson “started grooming [her] when [she] was a teenager,” and that the musician “horrifically abused [her] for years.” She also wrote, “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives. I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.” Wood had previously spoken about surviving domestic abuse but declined to name the alleged perpetrator.

Vanity Fair published Wood’s statement, as well as statements from four more women who came forward about abuse and other experiences with Marilyn Manson.

“Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality,” Manson wrote in a statement. “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how—and why—others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.”

In 2018, a sexual assault case brought against Manson in 2011 was publicly revealed. His lawyer at the time “categorically” denied the claims. It was also revealed that Manson faced allegations of battery and assault with a deadly weapon, but was not charged because California’s statute of limitations had expired.
