Marie Osmond just unveiled the doll she got her son for Christmas and why it's very close to her heart.

"When I was designing and sculpting dolls for 25 years, I designed a doll for each of my children…," the singer, 64, wrote in the caption of a carousel of photos shared to Instagram on Monday. "Well, I don’t know what happened, but I never designed one for my son Matthew. So I fixed that this Christmas!!"

She went on to explain that she commissioned her friend, doll designer Karen Scott, to create the doll for Matthew Richard Blosil, 24, whom she shares with her ex-husband Brian Blosil.

The first photo in the series of images featured Matthew holding the doll that matched his likeness as a child. Adult Matthew was wearing a gray shirt in the photo while the doll wore a bright red sweatshirt and blue gym shorts, though those are only visible in the sixth photo in the series, which featured the doll alone against a black background.

"I couldn’t have imagined it turning out more perfect!" she wrote of the doll.

Osmond went on to explain in her lengthy caption that she's had similar dolls made of Oprah Winfrey, her brother Donny Osmond, Elvis Presley and more friends.

The carousel of images the actress shared also included a picture of her giving Winfrey the doll of herself as a little girl and images of Daniel's doll in various stages. There was even a strange one of the head of Daniel's doll outside on what appeared to be a snow-covered deck.

She said she was meant to appear on the soap opera in 2011 but was performing in a residency in Las Vegas at the time so scheduling didn't work out.

Appearing on the show became one of her goals, along with more physical activities like ziplining, skydiving and climbing Mount Sinai.

“These people will get 25 pages that they have to memorize in one day and do it right when they get them, and their hours are insane," she said of soap opera actors. "I started at five in the morning, and I left at 11 o'clock. Just because it was, I'm sure this [was] special. But man, they work hard, and I had two days to get everything memorized, figured out and learned.”
