Mariah Carey Wants Ex-Assistant To Be Sanctioned $6,000 For Trying To Obtain Her Private Medical Records

Mariah Carey is fighting her former assistant’s attempts to see her private medical records, pleading with a judge to shut down her former employee.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the pop star has filed a new legal case against Lianna Shakhnazaryan.

Mariah and Lianna are in the middle of dueling lawsuits against each other. Mariah first sued to accuse her ex-employee of attempted blackmail. She claims Lianna filmed “intimate videos” of her without permission and tried to extort her for $8 million dollars. Lianna then filed her own lawsuit against Mariah accusing her of wrongful termination.

Recently, Lianna fired off subpoenas to two of Mariah’s doctors demanding they turn over records, which she believes will help build her case against the singer.

Mariah is not here for any of it saying, “the subpoena seeks Mariah’s private medical records and testimony regarding Mariah’s medical records, both of which are irrelevant to the subject matter of this action or the determination of any motion made in this action. Rather, the subpoena is nothing more than an improper attempt to embarrass and harass Mariah.”

Rather, the subpoena is nothing more than an improper attempt to embarrass and harass Mariah.”

The singer says her ex-assistant is simply trying to shake her down for a settlement. Mariah adds, “As a public figure, Mariah is no stranger to having her private life mercilessly dissected by tabloids. In the past, tabloids have printed articles from “sources close” to Mariah who have made various sensationalist allegations about her health.”

She adds, “Even if the disclosure of medical records were made subject to a protective order, it would be difficult (if not impossible) to prevent further unauthorized “leaks” to the tabloids. Any disclosure of Mariah’s medical records would undoubtedly lead to further embarrassing and insulting headlines.”

She is asking the court to sanction Lianna $6,601, which will pay her attorney fees for having to fight this.

Last year, Mariah sued Lianna Shakhnazaryan accusing her former employee of attempting to blackmail her for $8 million with “intimate videos” filmed without her permission.

Mariah hired Lianna to be her assistant in 2015. She claims Shakhnazarian “turned out to be a grifter, a Peeping (Tom)asina and an extortionist. “ She is seeking $5 million in damages.

Lianna has denied all allegations of wrongdoing and argued any mental or emotional injuries Mariah suffered were caused by her own behavior. She counter-sued Mariah accusing her of wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, and harassment. The case is ongoing.

Mariah recently caused fans to go wild by swimming in a gown.
