Mariah Carey Unveils Official Barbie Doll Inspired by Her Love of the Holidays

Mariah Carey’s busy Christmas season just got a lot more festive, with the release of the official Mariah Carey Barbie doll.

Hot off the success of the Barbie movie and on the heels of Carey’s “Merry Christmas One and All” tour, the officially licensed doll features a likeness of the singer in a glittery red gown with dazzling silver accessories and red high heels. Inspired by a similar outfit that Carey has worn on stage, the doll comes appropriately with a handheld microphone.
The newly released Mariah Barbie is quickly selling out on Amazon, while it’s still available (as of this writing) on Walmart.com. You can also find the doll on eBay. The official Mariah Carey doll comes in collectible packaging and includes a doll stand and a Certificate of Authenticity.

Carey has had a long-time fascination with Barbie, revealing in her New York Times bestselling memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, that she once recorded a secret album of pop-punk music inspired by Malibu Barbie (the singer even recorded a song of the same name).
Rumors of a Mariah Carey Barbie doll, meantime, had been swirling since last year, when the official Mattel Barbie account began following Carey and replied conspicuously to one of her holiday tweets.

In a press release, Mattel says, “The Mariah Carey Barbie doll captures the incredible vocalist’s signature flair and dazzling style in a festive look.”
Carey, meantime, calls this a “once-in-a-lifetime dream,” adding that “If I could go back and tell my little girl self that one day, I would have a Barbie made in my likeness, I think she would flip out! I hope all collectors and fans everywhere enjoy the holiday season and hopefully the Mariah Barbie will be a wonderful addition to it!”
The Mariah Carey Barbie doll comes on the heels of multiple holiday campaigns for the singer, who’s currently the face of a new Victoria’s Secret campaign and starring in an ad for The Children’s Place, alongside her twins Moroccan and Monroe.
