Mariah Carey is fresh off her Christmas tour and ready for some holiday cheer!

The “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer, 54, is embracing a festive spirit as she celebrates the season with her 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, a source tells PEOPLE.

“Mariah is thriving this Christmas. She’s feeling good and is in fully festive Mariah mode,” the source says. “She’s thrilled with the success of the tour with her kids and work she’s already done on her next album.”

Carey, who recently split from boyfriend Bryan Tanaka after seven years of dating, wrapped her Merry Christmas One and All! tour this past weekend in New York City after 16 performances.

The run of shows marked the first time she’s taken the tour national — and also included special appearances onstage by her two children, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon.

“Now she is only thinking about having a fun holiday break with Roc and Roe,” the insider says. “Everyone around her is talking about how she’s operating on all cylinders these days, and how amazing she looks.”

It's already been a special season for the star; earlier this week, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" returned to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking a record-breaking sixth nonconsecutive chart-topping run for the track, and surpassing Morgan Wallen ("Last Night") and Harry Styles ("As It Was"), according to Billboard.

She also stopped by the White House with Roc and Roe last week, where the trio met with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

"Last week I had the pleasure of meeting President Biden & Vice President Harris at the White House to ring in the holiday season!" the singer wrote on Instagram. "While there, we got to see all the festive decor and spread some cheer! 🎄❄️☃️"

Carey, whose last studio album, Caution, came out in 2018, recently opened up about her aspirations for Christmas this year in a PEOPLE digital cover story.

“I've been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year. Since last year—because last year wasn't the greatest,” she said. “I'm thankful for them all, but it wasn't my most fun version of Christmas ever.”

The five-time Grammy winner also revealed some at-home holiday secrets, like the fact that she has two different styles of Christmas trees.

“One is the more grand, kind of gold and cream and sparkly angels and butterflies tree that I have every year,” she explained. “It makes me really happy. The other one is like a Charlie Brown tree. Peanuts forever!”

Elsewhere in her cover story, Carey opened up about performing with her kids, saying that while it was “really nice” for her to see them onstage, she wants to let them forge their own path in life.

“I even like watching them getting ready, preparing to perform. Tonight, before I left the house, my son was practicing on something he's doing for the show,” she said.
