Christmas fanatic Mariah Carey answers 12 questions about her favorite holiday

Mariah Carey has come to be synonymous with the holidays, thanks to her ubiquitous song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” and her extravagant celebration with her family. The famed singer even surprises her twins Moroccan and Monroe, who are now 8, with an actual reindeer!

“People don’t understand,” Carey tells Yahoo Entertainment in the above interview about her 12 favorites of the season. “This is my entire focus of my year is Christmas.”

As we see in the video above, first and foremost, hot cocoa — sometimes with schnapps — plays a central role. That’s her favorite holiday treat. And the music she plays? (Not counting her own, of course.) The classic “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole is often booming through the speakers.

The famously glamorous Carey further reveals, somewhat unexpectedly, that the best gift she’s ever received is “babies.”

Carey’s packed many holiday hits into a special tour — tickets are on sale now — she’s built around “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which kicks off Friday at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Next month, she’ll take the show to Atlantic City, N.J., and a few other cities before she finishes up in at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Dec. 15.

After all, she has to have some time off to enjoy her own epic festivities.
