Mariah Carey Stars Alongside Twins Monroe and Moroccan in New Holiday Campaign (Exclusive)

The singer stars in The Children's Place "An Iconic Holiday: Part 3" campaign alongside her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe

Mariah Carey is gearing up for the 2023 holiday season.

The singer, 54, stars in a new holiday campaign for The Children's Place alongside her 12-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, Carey details why getting to work with The Children's Place was a perfect match.

"The Children's Place is a household name, and it truly dominates the children's apparel space, so I've always been a fan of theirs," she explains. "Secondly, I'm just someone who absolutely loves the holidays. I mean, that's obvious, but I really do love holidays, specifically Christmas."

"My kids and I have a matching pajama set or two that we wear, and it's just fun and a cute way to celebrate the holidays together."

The Children’s Place's "An Iconic Holiday: Part 3” campaign features Carey and her twins — whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon — decked out in festive holiday attire.

Stars who previously lent their likeness to the campaign were AJ McLean, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Wanya Morris and their families for Part 1, while Snoop Dogg, wife Shante Broadus, their children and their grandchildren starred in Part 2.

Getting to collaborate with her twins — whom she has affectionately dubbed as "Dem Babies" — was "really fun," Carey tells PEOPLE.

"We had a blast on set. They’re really such troopers," she adds. "To use my love of them in my work is so rewarding."

Along with matching holiday pajama sets, Carey's collaboration with The Children's Place also features a standout item: a red A-line gown with a flowing green plaid sash, simply known as "The Dress."

When she was asked to play stylist and craft the new clothing item, Carey tells PEOPLE it didn't come without some trepidation initially.

"At first, I was like, 'What do they mean they want me to design this?' And then I just decided to do something really paired down but classic, and I was really excited about that part of the collaboration," she explains. "That was something that was really fun."

"I had this vision of this stunning red ball gown with a ton of volume, and it was reminiscent of something I'd worn when I was first starting in the music business," adds the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" singer.

The Children's Place's latest collection is now available to purchase online, in stores across the United States and Canada, and on the retailer's Amazon storefront.
