Prior to concluding her Merry Christmas One And All! tour, Mariah Carey and her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, rang in the holiday season at The White House.

“Last week I had the pleasure of meeting President Biden & Vice President Harris at the White House to ring in the holiday season! While there, we got to see all the festive decor and spread some cheer!,” wrote the Queen of Christmas in an Instagram post.

However, because of the current conflict happening between Palestine and Israel, Carey’s visit sparked a slew of mixed reactions.

One user wrote, “Mariah you’re breaking my heart right now. I love you so much but you’re taking your children to the president that is allowing children to die right now… it’s heartbreaking.”

Another commented, “The pleasure to meet Biden? Disgusting. Another celebrity I’m ready to cross off the list. So disappointing what a bit of attention will do to a person. Bye Mariah.”

Mark Edwards and Christian Newman of the popular Instagram profile, @lovefromyourdads, responded, “I hope you sang ‘All I want for Christmas is a CEASEFIRE,'” which is a pun related to her festive hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Amid the backlash, Carey’s beloved lambily rushed to her defense. One admired how much the twins have grown up. “WORKKKK LOVE U QUEEN. Obama was more iconic but this one is with ur kids all grown up. HUGE,” they wrote.

Another fan chimed in, “Love you MC & don’t let the haters tear you down!!! You are not a politician, it is not your responsibility to push an agenda. You are helping millions through a really dark time by spreading Christmas cheer and your impact is so appreciated.”

Carey has not directly addressed fans’ reactions, but the criticism comes on the heels of a report that she and her longtime boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka have broken up. According to Page Six, Tanaka “wants to have a family. That’s not where [Mariah] is at.” He also reportedly “wants to start having his own life.”

The two started working together in 2006 and began dating in 2016. Fans speculated that the couple went their separate ways when Carey was spotted on her annual Aspen trip alone.
