Maria Kanellis would love to see Women’s Wrestling Army find a new home within the structure of Ring of Honor and All Elite Wrestling.

The Kingdom’s Maria Kanellis was a recent guest on AEW Unrestricted to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked how often Women’s Wrestling Army get together to tape content, Kanellis said they get together every three months to film new episodes, but with their contract at Pro Wrestling TV running out, they are looking for a new home for the product.

“So every three months right now, because we no longer have our contract with Pro Wrestling TV, we’re looking for a new place for Women’s Wrestling Army to call home, so I know where I would like it to be, but it’s all timing. With everything that is happening with AEW and with the growth that it’s had so far. The time will come where there’ll be an all-women’s wrestling show, and hopefully, we’ll be that all-women’s wrestling show.”

Kanellis also spoke about how important it is to build a locker room of women’s wrestlers who work well together and tries to pair talents up together that are going to produce the best match possible.

“Yeah, and the women all work really well together too,” Maria Kanellis said. “And that’s another part of building a locker room, building a show that’s based around mostly women, is the locker room itself has to work well together. So you have all the different styles, all the different looks, all the different categories covered because you want your show to be as diverse as possible.

“At the same time, women that work well together, and that’s what Bobby and I really try to do is we want everybody to have the very best match possible. So we look at our card, and we’re like, ‘Okay, who is going to bring out the best in that other person in that other group?’ So that is another thing that we really pride ourselves in doing.”

Maria spoke with WrestleZone earlier this year about Women’s Wrestling Army potentially finding a home on HonorClub. She said she had early talks with Tony Khan about the process, but the connection seemed like an easy one to make.

“My ideal place to have it is on HonorClub, and that’s because I feel like there’s so much crossover between [Ring Of Honor and Women’s Wrestling Army]. It’s also the same style of wrestling. When we started this, we didn’t want it to be too fluffy. We wanted it to be a little bit fluffy of course,” she noted, “but we wanted to be able to showcase every style, and we wanted to make an impact with it. So the style of wrestling we have is a lot of what Ring of Honor is already doing. So for us, the crossover is obvious.”

Tony Khan later commented on those talks during his ROH Supercard Of Honor post-show media scrum. Khan told WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard that while those talks did take place, right now the focus is on building up the Ring Of Honor brand and keeping things within the context of the show they currently have.
