The Next Movie In The DC Universe

After introducing the iconic comic book character in the disastrous Suicide Squad, Warner Brothers is giving Harley Quinn her time to shine in the DC Universe with Birds of Prey.

Margot Robbie is back as the insane clown princess, and this time she's bringing some friends along in the first trailer, which dropped on Tuesday.

Who Needs The Joker Anyway?

The biggest change from Suicide Squad is that Quinn and the Joker (Jared Leto) have broken up and she is facing down Gotham as her own woman.

Leto's take on Gotham's Prince of Crime was less than well received, so it's exciting to see where Robbie takes the character without that relationship dead weight. Who needs a psycho abusive boyfriend when you have a PET HYENA?!

A Whole New Squad

Harley Quinn is also bringing some new friends along: Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco), and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez). If you've been waiting for a team up of female superheroes and constantly let down by the usual offerings, Birds of Prey might be just what the doctor ordered.

Ewan McGregor rounds out the cast as the sly villain Black Mask, leaving everyone who watched the trailer wondering "what if this movie is... actually good?"

Birds of Prey swings into theaters on February 7, 2020.
