Listen up, everyone! We are less than a month away from Greta Gerwig's Barbie hitting theaters, and it is arguably the most highly anticipated movie of 2023.

Directed by Greta and written by Greta and Noah Baumbach, Barbie is set to follow Barbie (Margot Robbie) as she lives in Barbie Land with Ken (Ryan Gosling) and other Barbies and Kens. However, one day, Barbie decides to take a trip to the real world.

The film hasn't even been released yet, but everything about it has made the internet go wild. Posters revealing the various Barbies and Kens went viral, the tagline for the movie created a new Twitter meme, and every trailer gets people more and more excited.

And now, we are in PEAK Barbie season as the press tour for the movie is in full force with Margot, Greta, Ryan, Issa Rae, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, and more traveling around and giving some great interviews that reveal more about the movie.

Of course, with a press tour comes one of my favorite things: red carpets and OUTFITS. While people are always excited to see what celebs will wear to these events, the hype for what the cast of Barbie will wear is even higher, considering fashion is such an iconic part of the Barbie brand.

And already, Margot and her styling team have been crushing it. Way back at CinemaCon in April, Margot kicked off the Barbie press tour with a perfect all-pink outfit.

Then, last weekend, she rocked another pink outfit inspired by the color palette of Barbie, and it was, once again, a home run.

Now, cut to this week, when Margot, Greta, Issa, and America were at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia to promote Barbie, and Margot wore another incredible outfit.

Like, seriously, the marketing for Barbie should win an award — look at this pool with the Barbie logo and the beach in the background?!

Margot stepped out at the press event in a black and white Herve Leger dress, paired with white sunglasses, black heels, and a classic pink lip.

While the outfit on its own is gorgeous, it's even more perfect when you compare it to an actual Barbie doll.

Margot's outfit seemingly pays tribute to the outfit the first Barbie wore when the toy was launched by Mattel in 1959.

This isn't the first time Margot has referenced the first Barbie's outfit. In the teaser trailer for Barbie that was released in Dec. 2022, the film paid tribute to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

And Margot can be seen wearing almost an exact replica of the 1959 black and white outfit that Barbie wore when she hit stores.

As mentioned above, Barbie's clothes are something that is extremely important to the doll, and the brand, so when it came to creating outfits for the movie, costume designer Jacqueline Durran worked hard to bring elements of Barbie and Ken's iconic wardrobe to life.

Jacqueline, who won an Oscar in 2020 for her work on Greta's Little Women, discussed the importance of the Barbie costumes in an interview with Vogue, saying, "I tried to reference the history of Barbie. ... Barbie is a very useful way to look at different ideas of femininity: what that means, who owns it, and who it’s aimed at."

I love that the importance of fashion in Barbie Land has now carried over into Margot's press tour looks, and I cannot wait to see what she wears next.
