Margot Robbie Holds Sign While Taking Part in West Hollywood SAG/AFTRA Rally

The actress took part in a SAG/AFTRA rally from Netflix Studios to Paramount Studios in West Hollywood on Wednesday

Margot Robbie is showing her support for the SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The actress, 33, took part in a SAG-AFTRA rally from Netflix Studios to Paramount Studios in West Hollywood on Wednesday. Wearing brown sunglasses and a white oversized T-shirt with the words: “SAG-AFTRA ON STRIKE!,” Robbie held up a black, white and yellow “SAG-AFTRA ON STRIKE!,” sign and smiled during the rally.

SAG-AFTRA — the union, which consists of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, announced its strike in July — which has halted Hollywood productions — after failed contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Robbie previously said she would "absolutely" be prepared to strike during an interview captured by Sky News ahead of the SAG-AFTRA announcement at a Barbie premiere in July.

"I'm very much in support of all the unions. I'm a part of SAG so I would absolutely stand by that," the actress added.

At the time the strike was announced, SAG President Fran Drescher said in a press conference that the industry’s "entire business model has been changed by streaming, digital, A.I."

"This is a very big deal and it weighed heavy on us. At some point, you have to say no, we’re not going to take it anymore," Drescher said.

"The jig is up…. We demand respect,” she added. “You share the wealth, because you cannot exist without us."

The union joined the Writers Guild of America (WGA), who began striking in May for many issues such as better pay, increased residuals and limits on artificial intelligence (AI).

Robbie isn’t the only star who has publicly showed support for the ongoing strikes.

Colin Farrell, Sarah Silverman, Kate Flannery, and Jamie Lynn Spears walked the picket line for the SAG-AFTRA strike back in July, while many stars which include George and Amal Clooney, Dwayne Johnson, Oprah Winfrey and Julia Roberts have donated large amounts to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's Emergency Financial Assistance Program.

Film and TV stars Cynthia Nixon, Pete Davidson and Wanda Sykes were also seen holding “Writers Guild of America on Strike” signs back in May.
