Plot details are under wraps, but A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is described as an imaginative tale of two strangers and the unbelievable journey that connects them. The film will shoot this spring in California. CAA Media Finance and 30West represent the film’s worldwide distribution rights.

Robbie is having as good a year as any movie star in Hollywood after her smash hit Barbie, which she starred in and also produced through her LuckyChap banner, broke numerous records en route to $1.4 billion at the global box office. The film recently landed eight Oscar nominations including one Best Picture. Robbie had her pick of scripts to choose from following massive success of Barbie and recent weeks had landed on Big Bold Beautiful Journey as her next film.

As for Farrell and Kogonada, this film marks a reunion for the two after working together on the drama After Yang, which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival. Next up for Farrell is the private-eye drama series Sugar, which premieres April 5 on Apple TV+.

Robbie is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360 and attorney Jeff Bernstein and Aran Michael Management. Farrell is repped by CAA, managers Ilene Feldman and Claudine Farrell and attorney Steve Warren. Kogonada is repped by WME, Ilene Feldman Management and attorneys Daniel Passman and Tara Kole.

Imperative Entertainment most recently was behind the 10-time Oscar-nominated epic film Killers of the Flower Moon, which the company developed and produced over seven years; the Emmy-nominated limited series Black Bird; and the Palme d’Or-winning film Triangle of Sadness. Upcoming projects include Apple’s untitled drama from Dennis Lehane, starring Taron Egerton, and feature film The Wager, which will be directed by Martin Scorsese and star Leonardo DiCaprio.
