Singer Jimmy Buffett Has Passed Away At 76

Jimmy Buffett, the singer you know for many songs, including the '70s hit "Margaritaville," has died at age 76.

Jimmy's death was announced Saturday in a statement shared on his website.

"Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs," read the statement.

“He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many."

No further details were shared.

Jimmy, a two-time Grammy-nominated singer, had found success in the '70s singing folk songs. His most popular hits include “Come Monday,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere" with Alan Jackson.

His breakthrough came in 1977 with "Margaritaville," which later became a brand of restaurants, frozen drinks, and more.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Jane, and kids, Savannah, Sarah, and Cameron.
