Marc Summers is shedding new light on his experience filming the docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.

The former Double Dare host, 72, claimed he was blindsided by producers, who he said did "a bait and switch on me."

"They ambushed me," said Summers in a preview of his appearance on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show set to air on Friday, April 5, according to Variety and Deadline.

"They never told me what this documentary was really about. And so they showed me a video of something that I couldn’t believe was on Nickelodeon. And I said, ‘Well, let’s stop the tape right here. What are we doing?’ ”

According to Variety, Summers expressed that he walked out after being told the documentary would detail accusations made against producer Dan Schneider and former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck's alleged sexual assault of Drake Bell.

"I left. So I got a phone call about six weeks ago saying you're totally out of the show. And I went, 'Great.' Then they called me about four weeks ago and said, 'Well, you're in it, but you're only in the first part of it because you talked about the positive stuff of Nickelodeon,' " said Summers.

The former Nickelodeon personality claims he was not made aware that a clip of him being shown a video on his phone and later responding, "Did that air on Nickelodeon?" would be included.

"Those people came in after and took over our studios. I never met the man, I have no idea about any of those things. I mean, I know Kenan [Thompson] from Kenan and Kel because we've done stuff together," said Summers. "But as far as anything that happened on that show with any of those people, I never met any of them. I didn't know anybody. But it made it seem like I knew those people." PEOPLE has reached out to Investigation Discovery for comment.

A fifth episode of the docuseries will premiere on Sunday, April 7, on Investigation Discovery. According to a press release, the new installment will "dive deeper into the toxic and dangerous culture” of some of the most iconic children’s television programs.
