The brutal reign of Ted Bundy lasted from the year 1974 to 1978, and according to Crime Museum, within that time period, he took the lives of 30 individuals. Even though he confessed to killing the aforementioned number of people, it is widely believed that his kill count was higher. Apart from murdering his victims, he even took part in various horrific crimes that mostly involved rape and kidnapping.
Officials arrested Bundy in 1975. However, he shockingly escaped twice. Authorities recaptured him in 1978 and, ultimately, he received three death sentences. His reign of terror ended when he was executed in Florida State Prison in Raiford on January 24, 1989. Furthermore, the mode of execution used on him was the electric chair.
In the year 1980, an author named Ann Rule wrote a biography about the serial killer titled The Stranger Beside Me. She described Bundy as, “A sadistic sociopath who took pleasure from another human’s pain and the control he had over his victims, to the point of death and even after.”
The serial killer was born on November 24, 1946, and his mother’s name was Eleanor Louise Cowell. However, the name of this biological father was never confirmed.
