The Lincoln Lawyer series has found a new home at Netflix and its lead star in Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.

Garcia-Rulfo will portray Mickey Haller, a criminal defense attorney who runs his practice from the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car. Matthew McConaughey portrayed Haller in the 2011 big-screen adaptation of Michael Connelly's popular The Lincoln Lawyer book series.

The new Netflix series, which was originally set to debut at CBS, will follow the events of Connelly's second book of the same series, The Brass Verdict. An announcement from the streamer confirms the show's debut season will consist of 10, hour-long episodes.

"Manuel is the ideal Mickey Haller, as Haller follows in the footsteps of his attorney father with the showmanship of his Mexican movie star mother," Connelly, who will serve as executive producer of the series alongside David E. Kelley and Ross Fineman, announced on Monday. "Manuel brings a powerful dynamic and dimension to the role—one that aligns with the books and will give the show the opportunity to celebrate the Latinx heritage and roots of this Los Angeles-based story."

Garcia-Rulfo most recently starred in the Amazon Prime series Goliath (executive-produced by Kelley and Fineman) on the small screen, and had lead roles on the big screen in The Magnificent Seven, Murder on the Orient Express, Perfectos Desconosidos, and Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

No timeline for production has been released as yet.
