MANKATO — The group that owns and operates the Courtyard by Marriott hotel next to River Hills Mall is planning another hotel adjacent to it.
David Peters, president of Terratron, a hotel developer based in Park City, Utah, said in a press release that they will build an 89-room, four-story TownePlace by Marriott extended-stay hotel.
The current 93-room Courtyard opened in 2012 and was Minnesota's first LEED certified hotel, meaning it meets certain sustainable, environmental standards.
They plan to break ground in April 2024 and be open in the summer of 2025.
TownePlace is an extended-stay brand that is designed to meet the needs of travelers with longer-term needs as well as typical hotel guests.
The hotel will feature modern spacious suites with full kitchens, and larger public spaces, as well as complimentary hot breakfast, fitness center, pool and outdoor entertainment space.
