1. Shop a Holiday Fair for Seasonal Gifts

It’s officially time to start thinking about gifts for the holidays, and the Holiday Fair at the Manitowoc Senior Center, 3330 Custer St., is sure to spur inspiration with unique, handmade gifts.

Set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4, there will also be a bake sale, lunch, raffle baskets and a kids’ crafting corner.

2. Check out The Granary’s Holiday Open House

Continue your shopping trip at local shops with deals this weekend.

The Granary Boutique, 206 N. Eighth St., is hosting a Holiday Open House from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 2.

There will be plenty of fun gifts, clothes, décor and wine to put a serious dent in your shopping list.

3. Meet authors at Lakeshore Book Show

Bookworms won’t want to miss the second annual Lakeshore Book Show at Sabbatical Brewing Co., 835 S. 29th St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4.

About 20 authors will be present with their books on display and available to have signed and taken home.

One big name is Joe Verdegan, author of Amazon bestseller “The Reformatory — Tales from Green Bay’s Maximum-Security Prison.”

4. Taste cuisine from around the world

Roncalli’s International Food Fair, a true culinary experience, is from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

Entry is free and both food and drinks can be purchased using a punch card.

Cuisines to sample from include German, Italian, Jamaican, American and more.

In addition to tasty bites, there will be an oral auction, cash raffle, gift collections raffles and tabletops, trees and wreaths to bid on to kickstart decorating your home for the holidays.

5. Learn about Manitowoc brewery history

Dig into the rich history of Manitowoc’s brewing industry.

Manitowoc Tavern History, brewing historians and Briess Malt & Ingredients Company will be at the Manitowoc Public Library, 707 Quay St., at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 to share their extensive knowledge on the topic dating back to 1847.

Also on the scene will be Paul Hoffman of PetSkull Brewing to pour samples of his microbrew to of-age attendees.
