‘Manifest‘ Might Actually Come Back for Season 4 After All! Here's the Latest on What We Know

It sure sounds like Manifest might take off once again. Fans of the NBC series have been rallying around the show after its big cancellation after season 3. And considering the huge cliffhanger it ended on, who can blame them?! But even after all that drama, it looks like the show's mystery might get solved after all with a possible season 4.
Will we find our favorite passengers back for another season of mystery? Or do we actually have to say goodbye to them for good? Here's everything we know about Manifest season 4.
Wait, I thought Manifest was cancelled?
I mean...technically yes, it was. NBC axed the show back on June 14, 2021. The move was actually a last-minute decision for the network because cast contracts were set to expire the next day. It was also surprising for some newer fans since the show was on the top of the Netflix Top 10 as more people binged the series for the first time.
Okay, so, season 4 *isn't* happening?
This is where things get complicated. Even though the series was cancelled by NBC, it does sound like they had a change of heart recently. Because the show has continued to stay firmly in the Netflix Top 10, there's a chance it could return.
According to Deadline, things quickly changed at the network and execs might be rethinking some of their decisions. NBC comedy's Good Girls, which was originally set to come back for a final season, shockingly got cancelled over finances. Meanwhile, Law & Order: For the Defence, which was set to be a part of the fall schedule, was officially cut before it even started production. With more money available and Netflix fan love pouring in, there may be a plan to revive Manifest.
This wouldn't be the first time NBC reversed a decision like this. The network previously brought back Timeless for an additional season. Netflix also revived FOX’s Lucifer after it was cancelled, while NBC saved FOX's Brooklyn Nine-Nine after fans begged networks to save it. So they pretty much have a history with doing stuff like this, which means it's definitely not out of the question!
When will we know for sure if Manifest is coming back for season 4 and will we get a release date?
Unfortunately, we're just going to have to sit and wait a little longer to see if things work out for this show. At least at this point Manifest would have been on hiatus now anyway, so if it does get picked up, it can go back to its normal production schedule. Which is great because I don't think I can wait longer to find out what happens next!!
