If we can thank streaming for anything, it's the promise that if there's an audience for something, then there is most likely a television series for it. In Netflix's first year, the streamer kicked off with an eighth season of Gilmore Girls, a continuation of Trailer Park Boys, and a comedy sketch series called The Characters that was filled to the brim with insane ideas. It's why the streaming service was such a perfect place to keep a popular mystery series like Manifest going after a shocking cancelation by NBC that sent fans spiraling.

Much like Lost before it, Manifest follows the passengers of a commercial airplane who miraculously reappeared five and a half years after their aircraft went missing and everyone inside it was presumed dead. After a Season Three cliffhanger that didn't have as high of ratings as the previous season, NBC decided not to renew. According to Digital Spy, only 2.8 million people (of a previous 10 million-wide audience) tuned in for the Season Three finale. Manifest fans went berserk, spreading a #SaveManifest campaign all over social media. Series creator Jeff Rake even got involved on Twitter, reaching out for a "new home." Luckily, Netflix picked up the series for a fourth and final season.

Now, after five years and 52 episodes, Manifest fans can finally be at peace. Season Four, Part Two—which contains the last 10 episodes of the series—hit the streaming service on Friday, June 2. "Never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned the worldwide outpouring of love and support for this story, its characters, and the team who work so hard to bring it all to life," Rake said in a statement at the time. "That we will be able to reward the fans with the ending they deserve moves me to no end."

But if the series was so popular, why end at just four seasons? Wouldn't Manifest fans enjoy five, or even six? According to Netflix, it was better to just finish off strong than to risk cancellation once again. "Jeff Rake and his team have crafted a beguiling mystery that has viewers around the world on the edge of their seats and believing again in second chances, and we're thrilled that they will bring fans some closure with this final super-sized season," the streamer said in a statement. There could always be room for spinoffs. But for now, Manifest fans should just revel in the fact that their campaign to save the series actually worked. Enjoy it, people!
