Man Suing Chrisley Family for Grayson’s Car Accident Requests Todd and Julie’s Private Text Messages
Things for Todd and Julie Chrisley seem to be worsening by the day. We told you yesterday about the lawsuit they found themselves in regarding their son’s 2022 car crash. Patrick Rykwalder is suing the reality family due to Grayson Chrisley’s failure “to act appropriately” while on the roadways.
He claimed that at 5:15 PM the day of the crash, Grayson “suddenly and without warning … recklessly slammed his vehicle into the rear end of [my] motor vehicle at a high rate of speed.” Mr. Rykwalder is demanding damages between $25K to $750K.
In addition to damages, Mr. Rykwalder is requesting that Todd, Julie, Grayson, and Savannah Chrisley’s private text messages be released.

According to RadarOnline, the Plaintiff issued four subpoenas to Todd, Julie, Chrisley, and Grayson’s cell phone companies. He hoped to receive their private messages from one day before the crash and up to 18 days after.
The now-imprisoned reality TV stars responded to the claim, calling it “unreasonable, oppressive, and a clear effort to harass” them. Their lawyers called it a “fishing expedition.”
Rykwalder responded, adding that his requests were more than reasonable. He said the defendant’s overall argument that their messages could reveal sensitive information related to their legal case is weak, and he still demanded the contents. He also noted that Todd and Savannah arrived on the scene of the crash after Grayson called them.
After all of that, the parties finally agreed to meet in the middle. Rykwalder “will only be allowed to seek records from November 12 to 15.” The documents also stated they “agreed Grayson’s phone records will be turned over. The phone company will produce Todd and Julie’s transmission logs for Rykwalder, but the contents of the messages will only be disclosed to Todd and Julie’s lawyer.”
