Man Says Fiancée He’s Never Met In Person Wants To Give Him $250,000 Of Her Inheritance

Charlie says he met his fiancée, “Stephanie,” on an online dating website three years ago after she approached him. He says he’s in love with her even though he’s never seen her in person or on video. “She said her phone’s messed up and she has bad internet connections where she lives,” Charlie says, so they spend hours texting. “'Stephanie' and I have talked about meeting up, and we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together.” Charlie says he’s sent “Stephanie” $25,000 and that she promised him part of her $4.5 million inheritance, but Stephanie hasn’t received the money yet. Charlie explains what happens every time “Stephanie” is supposed to visit him – and why he wants her and her roommate to go to jail -- in the video above. On Thursday’s episode of Dr. Phil, "'Love or Larceny: My Father’s Fiancée is Fake,'" hear why Charlie’s daughter, Brittany, says she believes he’s being scammed. And, see what happens when a Dr. Phil producer tries to find the bank where “Stephanie” claims the inheritance is.
