Man gets Oklahoma's stadium recreated as a 150-lb cake for wedding
If the size of your Oklahoma groom’s cake is an indicator of your Sooner fandom, Samuel Cox is one of the biggest Oklahoma fans in the country.
Cox’s groom’s cake was a 150-pound recreation of Oklahoma’s Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium. He met his wife Caddie after an Oklahoma game in November 2013. That game — it was against Iowa State — is depicted on the scoreboard of the cake.
Yes, the cake is historically accurate. If you’re going to go with a cake of that size for your wedding, accuracy is a must.

Caddie’s grandfather, Bobby Proctor, served as a secondary coach under former Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer. So Oklahoma runs pretty deep in the family.
The cake was made by Frosted Art Studio and Bakery in Dallas and had to get to Norman for the couple’s wedding over the weekend. This is how it traveled, per ABC:
Weber transported the cake replica of Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in a giant homemade box and positioned it over dry ice to keep it fresh for the four-hour drive north to Norman, Oklahoma, where the wedding was held.
We’re not sure what the most impressive part of the cake is. The detailing of the outside of the stadium? The angle of the upper deck? The fact that the couple’s idea became a reality in the first place?
Hopefully it tasted as good as it looked.
