A man was killed and a woman was injured when the utility task vehicle (UTV) they were riding in went off an 80-foot cliff at a Kentucky off-road adventure park on Saturday.

Emergency services were dispatched to Hollerwood Off-Road Adventure Park after receiving a call at 8:42 p.m. local about the UTV accident, Powell County Search and Rescue said in a news release posted on Facebook.

"Initial reports stated two individuals were making their way to the parking lot of the popular off-road park when they lost control of their vehicle and fell off an 80ft multi-pitch cliff," authorities said.

According to officials, the woman was able to call 911 to report that she was trapped inside the UTV and that the other passenger had been ejected from the vehicle. Crews from multiple rescue agencies then partnered with bystanders to search the different trails for both victims.

"One team was able to locate the female patient and dispatched the remaining personnel to that location," authorities said, per the release. "A paramedic with PCEMS (also a member of PCSAR and RedSTAR) was able to set up an improvised rope system to gain initial patient access."
