Man Allegedly Poured 'Scalding Hot Water' on Disabled Roommate, Then Set Her on Fire Twice: Police

Kamron KearneyA Texas man is accused of pouring scalding hot water on his roommate and setting her on fire twice on the same day, according to multiple outlets.
Kamron Kearney, 26, allegedly got angry at his roommate with autism, because she had urinated on herself while she was in the bath, KENS5, WPDE and KSAT report.
He poured “scalding hot water” on her from over the shower stall before going on to brutally abuse her further in their San Antonio, Texas,home, KENS5 and KSAT report, citing an arrest affidavit.
He also allegedly drenched the 36-year-old woman in rubbing alcohol before setting her on fire, KENS5 reports, citing the affidavit.
When she fell to the floor the fire was extinguished, but Kearney allegedly made her. stand in a corner until her legs were swollen, then set her on fire a second time with more rubbing alcohol, KSAT reports, citing the affidavit.
A caregiver was bathing her during the alleged Oct. 25 incident which caused severe burns to the woman’s arms and legs, KENS5 reports. The caregiver has not been identified. Kearney was arrested two days later, according to KSAT and KENS5.
Bexar County court records show he is facing charges of aggravated assault with deadly weapon and injury to a disabled person.

He is being held at Bexar County Jail on $150,000 bond for the aggravated assault charge and on $100,000 for the charge of injuring a disabled person.
Court records show Kearney has a history of criminal charges dating back to 2017.
PEOPLE was not immediately able to reach the attorney Kearney retained.
He is scheduled for a court appearance on Dec. 12.
