Maluma Expecting First Baby, a Girl, With Girlfriend Susana Gomez — and They Already Have a Name!

There are some big changes on the way for Maluma!

The Columbian rapper and singer, 29, revealed that he and his girlfriend Susana Gomez are expecting their first child, with the release of his new music video for his song “Procura,” which he debuted at his concert in Washington D.C. on Thursday night.

During his concert at the Capital One Arena — the latest stop on his Don Juan Tour — he announced that he would show the audience his new music video and sat down on the stage to watch it as it premiered. Fans got to get their first glimpse at some of his more intimate moments showing his growing family as well as the gender reveal of his child.

The music video shows some home videos of Maluma, whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias, and Gomez taking trips together and having fun. The visual then cuts to the pair going to the doctor’s office, where Gomez can be seen getting an ultrasound. The “Según Quién” singer clearly gets emotional as he sees the ultrasound for the first time.

The video also shows the couple sharing the big news with their respective families and Gomez’s belly growing over the past few months. The whole thing concludes with scenes from the couple’s gender reveal party with friends and family. The couple can be seen counting down on a rooftop balcony as pink smoke fills the air signifying that they are having a girl.

The singer also snuck in a hint as to what they were going to name their daughter during the gender reveal party, as the camera focused on a diamond necklace that Gomez wore which spelled out the name “Paris.”

He later confirmed the name in an interview with NPR saying, “Paris, our beautiful daughter, she’s growing inside her mom’s belly and she gives me many reasons to keep dreaming… She’s everything to me right now.”

He added that becoming a father was “such a big dream” to him and said that he even sings to Gomez’s belly, hoping his daughter can hear him.

“It’s perfect timing,” Maluma shared. “I mean, all the beautiful things that I’m living. I’m looking for more personal experiences too, you know? I love my music. I love being on tour, but I also want to keep growing as a human being, not only as an artist.”

He said he is still getting used to the idea that he is going to become a father but is ready to tackle fatherhood head-on.

“My dad’s like wait ‘til you hold her in your arms. Wait for that feeling and then wait for them to start walking…,” he said. “It’s a beautiful journey, you know I’m here to learn. I think these kids come into this world to teach us a bunch of things so I’m ready to learn.”

He continued, “It's crazy. It’s a crazy feeling that only parents can understand… but I just love this feeling and my days are brighter than ever.”
