Making a Murderer lawyers Dean Strang and Jerry Buting are hitting the road. The original attorneys for Steven Avery, the subject of Netflix’s docuseries, announced a 27-stop speaking tour in the U.S. and Canada.
The Conversation on Justice Tour will feature the pair discussing the Avery case as well as the broader machinations of the American criminal justice system. The speaking engagements will also feature a Q&A session with curious audience members.
“This is a chance for a discussion that we can have with people about our justice system,” Buting says in the announcement video.
“It’s a chance to reach hundreds, or even thousands of people on a given evening and draw them into a conversation about criminal justice, how we administer it in this country, what the strengths and weaknesses of the system are.” Strang adds. “It’s a wonderful moment to continue a conversation that probably should extend to other aspects of the criminal justice system.”

Buting and Strang defended Avery during his trial for the murder of Teresa Halbach. He was convicted in March 2007 and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
