Makeup & Hair Stylists Guild Set Lifetime Achievement Honors

Oscar-nominated hair stylist Barbara Lorenz and Emmy-nominated make-up artist Leonard Engelman will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards at the annual Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards.

The guild already said it is giving Ryan Murphy its Distinguished Artisan Award at the awards ceremony February 19 at The Novo by Microsoft at LA Live. Nominations will be announced January 11.

Lorenz has styled the hair of some of Hollywood’s top stars including Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Meg Ryan and Kate Hudson. She has more than 100 feature film credits that include When Harry Met Sally, Charlie’s Angels, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, The Far Side Of The World and Rocky IV. She earned an Oscar nomination in 2003 for The Time Machine and an Emmy nom in 2005 for the ABC television movie Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Engelman, who has been Cher’s personal make-up artist for 30 years, worked with her on Moonstruck, Mermaids, Burlesque and Witches Of Eastwick. His other film credits include Sleepless In Seattle, Ghostbusters, Batman & Robin, The Princess Diaries and Alfred Hitchcock’s Topaz. A former business rep of IATSE Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Local 706, he received Emmy nominations in 1972 the NBC anthology series Night Gallery and in 2001 for the CBS television movie Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.
