Maisie Williams Isn't Any More Comfortable with Her 'Game of Thrones' Sex Scene Than You Are

From Esquire

The fear of having your parents walk in on you while having sex-or worse, walking in on your parents while they're having sex-is practically part of growing up. Most kids, however, don't have to deal with the fear of their parents watching them have sex while about 17 million other people are doing the same. The most recent episode of Game of Thrones gave Maisie Williams that distinct displeasure. And in case you were curious, she seems about as comfortable with it all as you are.

Bona fide warrior Arya had her big moment in the bedroom with Gendry in the second episode of Season Eight. The scene had fans torn for a lot of reasons, ranging from theories about her "intentions" (gross) down to whether or not it was even necessary. While some might have thought that seeing the actress take the plunge was a bit strange (Williams was about 11 when the show started shooting), no one found it more uncomfortable than Williams, who tweeted out: "if u feel uncomfortable just know that my mother and my step dad and my 2 sisters and my 4 brothers have all probably watched this too ahahakillmeehehe."

Initially, Williams thought the whole thing was more of a joke. "At first, I thought it was a prank,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ Oh f-k!”

This week, Arya will presumably head into battle against the White Walkers with the rest of Winterfell, but even if half of House Stark dies at the frigid hand of the chilly undead, nothing is colder than that first conversation you have with your mom after she sees you living your naked truth on television in front of the world. Growing up is awesome.
