Maisie Williams Had No Problem Lying to 'Game of Thrones' Fans About Jon Snow

The fate of Jon Snow from Game of Thrones was widely speculated upon in between Seasons 5 and 6. Part of the reason was reports from publications that Maisie Williams “confirmed” Snow was in fact deceased. Well, based on the outcome of Episode 2 from the new season of Game of Thrones, we now know that Maisie wasn’t being completely honest. The actress stopped by Alan Carr: Chatty Man to explain why. “Whenever we were asked the question, ‘So is Jon Snow coming back?’ everyone was like, ‘Oh, well, I can’t really say,’” said Williams. “And I was like that’s so boring you should just say no, because if you say, ‘Oh, I can’t say,’ then people know that he is and that you just can’t say.”

Williams used her strategy to throw journalists and the media off the trail. And to occasionally mess with fans. “Fans would come up and be like, ‘I know you can’t talk about it, but, so, is Jon Snow dead?’ like giggly,” said Williams. “And I’d be like, ‘No, yeah, he’s dead.’ And they’d be like, ‘Oh.’”
