What is Magnum P.I.‘s Season 5B premiere truly about? In the episode “Hit and Run,” Magnum and Higgins go to work for a dangerous and controversial client; Kumu (Amy Hill) and Shammy (Christopher Thornton) help move TC (who got shot in the Season 5A finale) to a veterans’ rehab facility; and Rick flirts with a woman who works at the marina.

In two subsequent episodes, Magnum and Higgins help a friend of Kumu’s who lost her life savings to a scammer, TC becomes increasingly frustrated at the lack of progress in his recovery, Magnum and Higgins enlist Katsumoto (Tim Kang) to go undercover when a chef at a high-end restaurant goes missing (Hernandez and Weeks teased this a small eternity ago), and Kumu’s work with Cade (Martin Martinez) at the Cultural Center delves into one of America’s darker chapters — the internment of Japanese Americans in the wake of Pearl Harbor.
