On the hunt for glamorous makeup you can put on in a snap? Then it’s time to try magnetic lashes! Magnetic lashes have gone viral for good reason. Not only do they look great, but they take seconds to apply. In this episode of Make Me Up, host Melanie Sutrathada (@melaniesutra) shows how to apply magnetic lashes, then pairs them with her favorite mascara.

Melanie shares that she’s a big fan of the Luxe Faux Mink Magnetic Lash Kit from Velour for its ease of application and its high quality. “This company is fantastic,” she says. “These magnetic lashes from Velour can be worn up to 30 times.”

Beyond their reusability, magnetic lashes are a huge time saver! “These lashes will change the game,” Melanie claims. “No longer are you gonna be impatiently fiddling in the mirror and holding tweezers up to your eyes and trying to perfectly situate them.”

To apply the lashes, Melanie begins by putting on two coats of the magnetic eyeliner that comes with the kit. “I’m going to get as close to my lash line as possible,” Melanie explains as she applies the eyeliner. “Start from the inner corner of your eye and you’re just going to take it all the way out.”

Once she’s applied two coats of eyeliner to both eyes, it’s time to put on the lashes! “What is fantastic about these lashes is that they are already three-quarter length which means that you do not have to trim them,” Melanie explains as she removes the first eyelash from the package.

Melanie holds the first eyelash up to her eye and lets it snap into place. Then, she uses her fingers to make small adjustments. “Now I’m gonna go ahead and adjust them so they’re a little closer to my natural lash,” she explains. “I’ve never had it be so easy with lashes!”

After applying both eyelashes, it’s time to finish the look with the ILIA Mini Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara. Melanie explains that the mascara not only makes her eyelashes look fuller, but it also helps blend together her natural lashes with the fake lashes. “This is an award-winning clean mascara,” Melanie explains. “It’s definitely one of my favorites primarily because it’s super buildable, it’s flake-free, [and it’s] weightless.”

Not only that, but the mascara brush is two-sided for extra precision. “So this top part right now is good for building that volume and making sure your lashes are each individually coated,” Melanie says, showing off the curved upper side of the brush. Then, she turns the brush over and continues, “And then this part is great for actually individually defining those lashes.”

Melanie applies the mascara and explains how she maximizes the amount of product she puts on her lashes. “I like to really coat it at the base and kind of wiggle it up to get a lot of product on there,” she says. “We’re going to try to bind those natural lashes and those faux lashes together.”

With the mascara applied, Melanie’s magnetic lash look is complete! “If you’re looking to really try out a viral trend, [this is a] game changer,” she exclaims. “Boom! So good!”
