"Can't wait to meet you," the actress wrote in her Instagram post on Mother's Day announcing the big news

Mae Whitman is going to be a mom!

The Parenthood alum, 35, revealed that she is expecting a baby on Instagram on Sunday, May 12, posting a carousel of photos from her time on the hit NBC drama.

Whitman's character, Amber Holt, was pregnant in the sixth and final season of the show. The actress' post featured photos with her onscreen mother, Lauren Graham, and onscreen brother, Miles Heizer, from the time her character was pregnant.

"Not to make a parenthood episode out of it or anything but!!! Mother’s Day looking a little different this year! 🤰🏼," Whitman captioned the carousel. "Can’t wait to meet you, huge baby kicking my insides to filth! #ruveal."

"I’m so happy for you," Whitman's Good Girls costar Christina Hendricks commented on the post.

"Love a hard launch❤️❤️❤️," Busy Philipps wrote.

Whitman — who is an avid fan of the show Friday Night Lights and even hosted a rewatch podcast of the sports drama with its stars Scott Porter and Zach Gilford — also received words of congratulations from Porter.

"Know I already told you BUT….congrats!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!," the actor wrote to The Duff star.

Whitman rarely posts on social media, but last shared an update on Instagram with her followers after she went on a trip to see Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour with Hezier in August 2023.

"Taylor you’re my favorite and ur a superhero and I love you. I don’t understand how you do what you do but I’m forever insanely thankful that you do it," the actress wrote in the caption of a carousel of photos from the night, which included friendship bracelets she had made.
