‘Madoff’ Reveals Bernie Was Quite the Ladies Man
On Wednesday night, ABC premiered the first half of the Madoff mini-series. Audience members can expect a jam-packed episode filled with lies your stockbroker tells you, adultery, and a detailed explanation of Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.
Early in the episode, the essential players in the Ponzi scheme are introduced with a little bit of backstory on each. For instance, Annette Bongiorno was Elizabeth Taylor’s dopplegänger before she started working with the soul-sucking Madoff.
The episode ends with Madoff attending his niece’s wedding, and while that all sounds sweet, the wedding was actually a catalyst to beginning the end of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. Shana Madoff married an SEC lawyer, with all the lawyers in on Madoff’s scheme in attendance. Bernie is approached by one of Shana’s new husband’s work colleagues with a warning that the worst is yet to come.
Madoff airs Thursday at 8 pm on ABC.
