56-year-old rocker Jon Bon Jovi has gone on an extraordinary rant against modern pop culture and some of its biggest reality stars.

The ‘Livin on a Prayer’ singer told host Lisa Wilkinson on American show The Sunday Project that he thinks the success of reality shows such as Keeping up with the Kardashians and the Real Housewives franchise is ‘horrific.’

“I think it’s horrific that we live in that world and I can tell you I’ve never given 60 seconds of my life, EVER, to one of those Housewives of Blah Blah and Kardashians,” Jovi said.

He then singled out Kim Kardashian, and slammed the fame her 2007 sex tape with rapper Ray J, has given her now internationally famous family.

“What’s gonna be in your autobiography? “I made a porno and guess what I got famous.” F**k, sorry, I’ll pass!” he said.

He the encouraged viewers to create ‘art’ rather than seek celebrity and that for him fame was just a ‘byproduct’ of his creativity.

“Go and write a book, paint a painting, act, study, sing, play write. Fame is a byproduct of writing a good song.”

But despite Jovi’s harsh words against some of America’s biggest reality stars, the rocker actually attempted to break into reality telly once himself.

Back in 2015 Jovi got on board as an executive producer with a Weinstein brothers reality show project, ‘If I Wasn’t a Rock Star.

The show’s premise was to follow well known rock stars as they return to their hometowns and try their hands at local jobs. The show never met fruition, and the project seems to be now completely abandoned.

Bon Jovi has sold over 130 million albums, and according to Forbes has a net worth of over $400 million (£321 million).
