Made with love, this Valentine's Day latte at the Shore comes in a waffle cone cup

To celebrate Valentine's Day, Almost Home General barista Courtney Okal and baker Cory Whitman whipped up a latte fit for sweethearts.

Available through Sunday, Feb. 18, at the popular Lincroft spot, the latte is served in a freshly baked waffle cone cup dipped in creamy melted chocolate and Valentine's Day-themed large sprinkles. It's romantically topped off with latte art.

"Cory was all for it after I found it [on Instagram]; right away she went into scouring for recipes," Okal said. "We like to collaborate here ... Cory will literally have dreams about lattes and recipes. We like giving each other ideas."

Daintily placed in a wide coffee mug, the drink takes about 10 minutes to seep into the waffle cup, soaking it for a warm, "espresso-soaked pancake" vibe, according to Okal.

When Okal found the idea on Instagram, it was hand-held ice cream cones. But Whitman decided it would be a more relaxing experience to drink your latte slowly from a cup.

"[The waffle cone cup] fits perfectly in the mug, and anything that comes through is a second drink ...," Okal said. "You also don't have to hold it the whole time."

Okal prefers to take a bite of the waffle cup before taking a sip of the latte.

It's a heart-felt explosion of flavor.

"I tweaked the recipe for the perfect texture ... and we might bring it back as a special if it's a hit," Whitman said. "We're not just a baker, or a barista here ... We all love working together."
