Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser is KFCs new Colonel Sanders

Things about to get a little less Casual for Vincent Kartheiser.

The former Mad Men star — who recently joined Hulu’s Casual — has been announced as KFC’s newest Colonel Sanders. Kartheiser is the latest to join the growing list of actors who’ve portrayed the KFC founder, including Darrel Hammond, Norm Macdonald, and most recently, Jim Gaffigan.

However, Kartheiser’s Colonel won’t be like that of the men before him. The actor will be depicting a new “heartthrob Nashville Hot Colonel.” In fact, the fast food chain specifically went in search of “a young actor” with “lots of hair and flair.” According to the release, “Vincent’s vintage good looks and piercing blue eyes made him perfect for the role.”

Kartheiser also feels like he’s a fit for the role. “Like KFC’s Nashville Hot Chicken, I’m a bit of a rebel decked out in authentic Nashville flavor — a perfect combination of classic and cool,” says the actor.

Hot Chicken is a recent food phenomenon, born in Nashville, Tennessee, and currently found in restaurants and food trucks across the country.
