Mad Bets: How no fans will impact NFL odds

If there are no fans at NFL games, what teams would be impacted the most?

- We are all excited for sports to start back up again. But I think I speak for us three when I say that we're the most excited for NFL to come back. This brings me to my question of the week. Now, Jeff Stoneback of BetMGM says that home teams are going to be affected by a point and a half if there are no fans in the stadium. So which NFL team will be impacted the most by not having fans when the season starts up? Jared, let's start with you.

JARED QUAY: Well, I think it's more the fans at home field, OK? It's the fact that you're close. You don't have to-- you can drive in your own car to the stadium. You get to be on the phone. You know you're familiar with the area. And you don't have to take cold showers when the opposite team maybe turns the hot water off when you beat them. That happened to me in college, guys.

I'm taking the Los Angeles Chargers. Hear me out, all right? They didn't have a home field advantage last year. But now, since there's no fans, that doesn't mean all the away team can't have all the Eagles in the stadium, and they just get to neutralize it. And so I think the Chargers are going to be better, 'cause they're not going to be at home fighting against their own fans.

- OK, that makes sense. Matt, do you agree? What's your thoughts? What team are you picking?

- Well, first of all, I really want there to be fans, because I feel like, what's Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football going to be like-- these prime-time games-- without fans? It's going to be really, really weird. And it's really interesting to think about a home team getting points, you know, taken away from them-- maybe dialing that back. There's actually a lot of value on the home team-- almost less now on the away teams.

But I'm going to say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, because we saw Tom Brady facing adversity in that golf match, and it wasn't good. It wasn't good. And I think that if he's in a situation where he starts getting booed by his own fans, we could start seeing some of that same kind of stuff. So if there's not fans there, there's going to be a little bit more wiggle room. Nobody's going to be booing. You can kind of figure stuff out. So I'm going to say it's going to benefit the Buccaneers the most out of all the NFL.

- Oh, OK. Well, I think it'll be Seattle. I mean, the 12th Man-- Seattle's got the loudest fans in the league, and they have a huge home field advantage, although I did hear that Kansas City has the loudest fans compared to Seattle. But I mean, I think they're just a great team overall. At home, away, in outer space-- it doesn't matter. I think Seattle will be affected the most.

- Hard to go against the 12th Man. Now they only got 11.

JARED QUAY: I know. Patriots still got their 12th Man, 'cause he's the referee.
