Mackinac Island Swim returns for third year

MACKINAC ISLAND — On Sunday, Aug. 13, a mixture of 471 participants will enter the waters of Lake Huron with a goal of swimming around Mackinac Island, a total of 8.2 miles. The Mackinac Island Swim supports the Mackinaw Woman’s Club. The finish line festivities at Mission Point Resort are a fundraiser for the club.

“We support those that support others, and the Mackinaw Woman’s Club embodies that. It’s a huge reason why the party at the finish line, which includes auctions, raffles and merchandise, acts as a fundraiser to benefit the Woman’s Club,” said Jon Vos, event director for the swim. “The Mackinac Island Swim is all about enjoying the challenge, the venue and the fellowship of others that share the same passion.”
