Machine Gun Kelly Appears to Clap Back at Criticism over Designing a Razor Blade-Shaped Guitar

Machine Gun Kelly appears to feel misunderstood after facing backlash over a guitar he recently designed.

On Thursday, the "Bloody Valentine" musician, 33, appeared to clap back at people who were criticizing a razor blade-shaped guitar he designed with Schecter Guitars — aptly called "Razor Blade — that went on sale earlier this week.

"i'll never explain my art, because true art is conversational and always up for interpretation, but i will say, most of you constantly interpret it wrong. and then blame me for your version of what you think my art is," MGK wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He added: "ultimately i'm sad at how people perceive me in general. peace."

Fan-captured footage recently featured the pop-punk artist (whose real name is Colson Baker) showcasing his Razor Blade guitar and told the crowd that it’s “kind of an ode to Tickets To My Downfall, the line on ‘title track,’ and also an ode to my 20s and all the crazy times that I had.”

On the song, featured on MGK's studio debut album, he sings: “I use a razor to take off the edge, ‘Jump off the ledge,’ they said.”

In November 2023, the "Forget Me Too" artist made it known he wanted his friend Travis Kelce to come home to Cleveland, Ohio.

During an episode of Travis and his brother Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, MGK called in and personally offered the Kansas City Chiefs tight end $500,000 in cash to leave his current team behind and play football for the Cleveland Browns.

"I’m sure you get asked this question behind closed doors a lot, but I would be remiss — due to the nature of our friendship and just as a Clevelander — if I did not insert this question personally," said MGK, before making his grand ask.

"I will give you $500,000 cash upon arrival just for shopping or whatever you want, as well as matching that same amount as a donation to both of our high schools, both Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights, as well as everyday breakfast and coffee delivery from my restaurant if you would just come home and put on these colors right here," he said, holding up dark brown, orange and white Cleveland Browns merchandise.

Travis, 34, revealed he's considered playing for his hometown team. "You know that was the original dream, dog. You know that was the dream," he said.

"Come on home, Trav," replied the Grammy-nominated musician— who performed at Travis' 2023 Kelce Jam music festival in Kansas City last year.

"Hey, I’ll tell you what, man. That is an intriguing offer," said Travis, mulling over the offer, before pledging his loyalty to the Chiefs. "It is an intriguing offer because you know how much we love the east side of Cleveland, the Heights, Shaker Heights, Cleveland Heights, you already know brother. I’m not gonna lie — situation’s really good in Kansas City.”

"There is no decision that needs to be made right now," said MGK, "but just know my offer is real, and it’s on the table."
