In a succinct Twitter post, he wrote:

He later added: “Hey @Disney, call me!”

Yesterday, news emerged from Disney boss Bob Iger that a reboot of the Home Alone franchise is in the offing via its new Disney+ streaming platform, due to launch in November.

Culkin appeared in the first Home Alone movie, directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, in 1990, at the age of 10, foiling the attempted burglary of Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern's 'Wet Bandits'.

He then starred in the sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York in 1992, bumping into Donald Trump in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel.

Wisely, he passed on 1997's Home Alone 3, with the series going on to five movies in all, ending with Home Alone: The Holiday Heist in 2012, which went straight to cable in the US.

It's not yet known what form a reboot of the franchise might take – whether new movies or a series on Disney+.

But Culkin did reprise the role briefly in an ad for Google in 2018.

Either way, he is prepped for the call.
