Described as "the world's most notorious rock band," Mötley Crüe will headline the 2024 Illinois State Fair.
Here's what you need to know.
When will the band perform?
Saturday, Aug. 10.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are $88-$165 and will go on sale to the general public via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Saturday. The main gate insider presale starts at 10 a.m. Friday.
Who is in the band?
Stalwarts Vince Neil on vocals, Nikki Sixx on bass and Tommy Lee on drums are joined by John 5 on guitar. John 5 (John William Lowery) formerly played with Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.
Former guitarist Mick Mars, who suffers from ankylosing spondylitis, an aggressive and progressive form of arthritis. is out of the band but said recently he would be open to writing new music with the band.
What are some of the band's biggest hits?
Mötley Crüe had a string of hits, including “Home Sweet Home,” “Kickstart My Heart,” "Girls, Girls, Girls" and “Shout at the Devil.”
The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
The 2019 Netflix biopic “The Dirt” chronicled the band's global rise.
Who else is playing the state fair?
Already booked for the fair are Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with Ashley McBryde on Aug. 11 and Jordan Davis with Ashley Cooke and King Calaway on Aug. 13.
